Jeremiah is known as "The Iron Prophet" since God promised to make him a wall of iron when people fought against his messages. However, Jeremiah also had a pastor's heart. He seemed to deliver even his most harsh prophecies with tears. For that reason he is also called "The Weeping Prophet." Jeremiah lamented the sins of his people, and his heart broke over the thought that any of them might perish. So, Jeremiah stood like iron against the criticism of those who did not like his stern warnings, but wept as people rejected God and were lost.
